Following purchase completion of the brand new, 16-unit development at 139 Sanderstead Road in Croydon, stakeholders and guests celebrated the official opening of Quest Court.
The scheme was delivered through the Build London Partnership, working with London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q), and the developer, Rocco Homes Ltd. L&Q were able to secure grant funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA) for the scheme which consists of 16 units: five with one bedroom, nine with two bedrooms and two with three bedrooms, along with nine parking spaces.
Ben Laryea, Chief Executive at Ekaya Housing Association said, “I am delighted to see Ekaya delivering these fantastic new homes for our community. Affordable housing is in short supply, so it’s important that we all do our bit to address this. “We look forward to working with Build London Partnership with L&Q and delivering more new homes in future.
"It is also really important to me that we honour the legacy created by our founding members. We have done this previously when we named Schumann Court after one of our founding members and now for a second time are able to name this scheme after Dorothy Quest.
"I would like to thank the GLA for its support, Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing for officially opening Quest Court, also Jason Perry, the Executive Mayor of Croydon and John French, Head of Development Partnerships, L&Q and all our stakeholders who attended the open day celebration on the 4th May."
Dorothy attended the opening and said “It is with admiration and gratitude that I extend my sincere appreciation to the CEO, Board members and staff of Ekaya Housing Association for their remarkable dedication and tireless efforts in steering the organisation towards unprecedented success.
