By law, we have to carry out annual gas checks in every home where there is a gas supply, so that we can issue you with a gas safety certificate. At the same time, we give your boiler its annual service.
Before your service is due, our gas contractors will write with an appointment. If you cannot manage the date they offer, you must contact us to rearrange it.
You must give our gas contractors access to carry out this essential work. It is a condition of the tenancy agreement you signed. If you don’t give us access, we may have to take legal action. This is because we take gas safety seriously and we would be breaking the law if we failed to check your home.
Reporting a gas leak
If you suspect a gas leak, switch off your gas supply at the meter immediately. Don’t use electrical appliances or switches. Turn off all pilot lights and open your doors and windows. You should then call National Grid on 0800 111 999.
